Isn't it the way you start out so well, with so much motivation, drive and ambishion, you are going to swim very steam, lake, river, ride every mountain range and run across deserts to get the job done.
Then your life comes and slaps you in the face at 2.17am and all of a sudden there is vomit on the floor and all over your 3 year old. With every intension of working my bum off for this sprint in 6 weeks something, or someone (myself) has let the ball drop. I am not proud of what has happened but I have, stop. noted my mistakes and I am retrying again.
The plan is solid, the intention and drive is strong, Now to get work, family and time under control! hahah oh there is that word again "control" I would like to now change it out for the word "balance"!
On some good news, I now have a tri coach - He is a dear and beloved friend that I only just got back intouch with (via FB) We are meeting this sunday (depending on his work) for an open water swim and then bike ride and so he can see what and were I need help. Steve has been doing Tri's for 20 years, I knew him a life time ago when we both worked at a one of the Theme Parks on the gold coast. He coaches newbie Tri people and when we reconnect he jump at the chance of coaching me, I am over the moon as I didn't want him to feel that I was just trying to get something out of him for nothing.
So plan is on the way! 6 weeks and I am sh*ting my pants!
On another note I have a question for you! what is the difference between a journey and a quest! and which one are you on at the moment?

2. A distance to be traveled or the time required for a trip: a 2,000-mile journey to the Pacific; the three-day journey home.
2. A process or course likened to traveling; a passage: the journey of life.
I like to think that my life is a journey made up of amazing quests, and advantages. Even if I fail on a quest or bring home the prize it all adds up!
I am on the journey path, I think a quest means that there is an end. A journey is something that is life long.
ReplyDeleteI know how you feel, I had the race of my life in May, my first race of the year, since then, something has gone wrong or I didnt have "it".
I love the coach route, it will do wonders and most importantly, it takes all the guess work out of it, just do what the program says to do.
You will rock it at the GC!! I thought about switching from the HIM to the sprint just to give myself a mental break but I feel like I would have given up on the quest to shake the monkey from Yeppoon. I'll be cheering you on before you head off into the swim (the Sprint goes before the HIM). And the coach is a great idea....i wish I'd found one months ago.
