Yesterday I rode to work. I had about 6kms to go when i notice a cop car it was driving very slow and staying with me the whole distance to work. I thought i was doing something wrong or he was looking at something but i could work out what.

I think the cop must have come from the accident and was looking out for me.
I cross the highway just up from where the accident was everyday when i ride. it's very very busy and i always hop off my bike and walk at the lights with others.
I do remember seeing all the lights from the police and ambulance cars when i crossed yesterday.. Its just so sad.
Everyone pls be very careful on your rides, runs and pls watch for others on theirs

That is sad. I worked at Burleigh for a while when I lived up in QLD and the traffic is so heavy. I am glad the cops were looking out for you.

ReplyDeleteI hate cycling on roads and always go the back way/shared paths if I can, even if it takes longer! And like you tend to cross the major roads on foot.
As a driver, I'm really paranoid around bikes too, and probably cause more of a hazard by being overly cautious!
