Easter bunny is coming

So I have now finished the easter shopping (for little miss easter hunt) I love easter it is my favourite holiday. Not too hot, Chocolate :), Family and Chocolate oh did I mention CHOCOLATE my down fall in weight loss :(

But I have my Tri to focus on so no CHOColate ok maybe a little :D

I am doing a dry run of the tri this sunday with an extra 3km run throw in there lets see how that works out (just trying to work out the transitions and how to set stuff up for myself)
Going over in my head I need a List!

Stuff i need to get before my Tri

  • New swimmers .. Do you remember when your a kid and summer was about living at the beach (or pool), swimming about 5 times a day and you lived in your swimmers .. so at the end of summer your ar*e of your swimmers where at the back of your legs... Thats what my swimmers are doing :) Time for a new pair I think! Was thinking about a tri suit but to be real! with myself I am not happy spending alot of money on one  for my first race, I have no idea what to expect and swimmers i will always use.. but i can have a look :)
  • The shoe laces thingys .. I am not sure where to get these from but I am going to have a look at sports store on Saturday and if there not there I will try the TRI shore (bit scared about going into a tri store i might to buy everything or they will look at me and think what the hell!)
  • New Helmet  .. i old one is too big  I have left this to one of the last things i need  before getting a new bike . i have not blogged about my bike as yet(well i am not counting the wind trainer fall) The bike is not mine but my brothers who about 4inchs taller then me, the bike is huge but i can manage it fine and it will at least stand out in the transitions well I think it will :) but will wait and see. and one day I will have a bike of my very own :)
  • ear plugs - I have problems with my left ear always have and i need to train with some new plugs. Has anyone tried the new speedo's ear plugs? they look weird then the old ones!
I have my first ride with my new riding group tomorrow :) I will let you know how that turns out. I did call them last week for my first ride but there where all up at Sunshine coast helping out with the team events in the  Mooloolaba Triathlon Festival which is soo cool that they are in to the Tri and i might make some more tri friends as well as some riding ppl.

No Hockey this weekend just Family time and Beach!!and a little training! very happy about that

Oh and thank you for my  last comments
Jess- All good we should run :) I will have a rental car so i can meet you. oh and i do love the bulletin points too makes it easy to remember what i am talking about when I get interrupted at work while writing my blog :)and have to get back to it !
BDD - I am going with option A) I thought I heard Little Miss yelling out from her bedroom so I stopped pedaling to hear more then i was falling with the bike in toe. I also think I must not have tightened it correctly for this to happen. Me being to excited to get on the bike ^_^ and a BIG HUGE Thank you so much for the training layout that will help so much.
Mel - You are too kind and but my house is always a mess and and i can never get the washing finished But i think that has nothing to do with life thats just the stuff you do when your waiting for life or a hockey game. So i say hell to the washing ! and a big thank you for you kind words :D
One last thing BIG WAVE to Miss Witchy. I miss our talks and hoping that this blog make up for the lack of conversation thou I know I talk a lot more then i could ever write in this blog!

Happy Easter Every One be safe on the roads and be safe to those that are on it (BDD I liked your Blog to Soccer Mums)

  2. Of your to do list, the helmet one is #1, always, always bike with a proper fitting helmet. I admit, I am a bike nerd and I always wear my helmet. Doesnt matter if its on my roadie, or TT or clunker hyrbrid. Safety first.

Dont be afraid of the tri store, remember, everyone in there had to do their first tri at one point of their life. Tri store employees are trained to help out newbies as well as more experience racers. I say go in there. You will pick u[p some hints and race tips, I get you.

Yankz are just the best thing ever, you will like never having to tie your shoes again. Takes a little adjusting to get them to feel just right, but once you get them set to your feet, your gonna love them .

Tri suits are an investment, I suggest a pair of tri shorts at the minuim, you can wear them over your suit, swim, bike and run in them since chances are there will not be a changing booth at your tri.
